General
1. Which Interdynamics compressor is right for me? What are the differences in features?
Our Product Selection Guide [link] for Compressors shows and explains the differences in features among our models.

2. How long will it take to fill a tire?
Varies. Between 4 minutes for small tires up to 9 minutes for largest tires.
3. What is PSI? How do I know what PSI my tires need?
PSI is pounds per square inch, which is a measure of air pressure. Check the side wall of your tire to see the appropriate PSI for your tires.
4. Does a higher PSI mean faster inflation?
With Interdynamics product line it does, but not for many competitor’s products.
5. How does Interdynamics ensure quality and reliable performance of its compressors?
Interdynamics puts its compressors through rigorous testing, including drop tests to ensure durability and a thorough set of performance tests.
6. Will the compressor work best with the car running?
Yes.
7. Can I use an extension cord?
Yes. Use at least 16AWG or thicker (14AWG).
8. Will the compressor work with ANY cigarette lighter?
Your cigarette lighter must be 15 amps or higher to power the compressors.
9. Does the compressor automatically shut off when it reaches the right pressure?
The Automatic Air does. Others do not.
10. My compressor shut off during inflation. Why?
Other than the Automatic Air (ATA-260) model, which automatically shuts off at the pressure you selected, the compressors will only shut off on their own if they have overheated. To prevent this, shut the compressor of for 5 minutes after approx 10 minutes of operation

11. I just started using the compressor on a flat tire and the gauge indicates I already have 100PSI – What's happening?
The chuck is not put onto the valve stem properly. The chuck must be pushed all the way down onto the valve stem to open the valve and allow air to enter the tire.

12. Can I use an air tank with the compressor?
Interdynamics compressors are not designed for use with an air tank.

13. Why does it take longer to inflate mobile home tires? What is the fastest way to do that?
It takes longer to fill mobile home tires because of the extra weight. For faster inflation, jack up the mobile home and then inflate.

Inflate 'n Seal ("IFS")
1. How does Inflate 'n Seal seal a hole?
After you use the IFS, drive the car at 30 mph for a while and the sealant will be distributed evenly all around the inside of the tire. Some air will escape the hole and that brings the sealant out too. The sealant attaches to the rubber and seals the hole.
2. How big a hole can it seal?
The IFS can seal a hole made by a 1/4" spike ! This type of "hole" is actually a "puncture"… not a drilled-out hole! Also, it will not seal a long cut or any sidewall puncture.
3. If I have driven on a flat tire, will Inflate 'n Seal make it safe to continue driving on?
If you have driven on a flat tire it is probably very dangerous and needs to be changed.
4. Is the seal permanent? Do I need to have the tire professionally serviced?
The IFS is a temporary fix so you must take the tire to a shop and get it repaired professionally right away (within a day or so).
5. Does having the sealant in the tire affect the tire's performance over time?
No.
6. Why does Inflate 'n Seal stop by itself at approximately 120PSI?
It is set to stop before it's maximum rating because plastic bottles cannot handle the IFS's maximum pressure. If you need to use 250PSI, place the port cap on the port and hold down the Pressure Relief Valve. The IFS will then reach its maximum PSI.
7. What happens if my valve stem is clogged or defective?
If your valve stem is blocked, the IFS cannot push air or sealant into the system. If you try to use the IFS anyway, you will find the Pressure Relief Valve works and the unit will continue operating at approx 120PSI.
You should do the following:
- Turn the unit off.
- Turn the unit UPSIDE DOWN.
- Loosen the bottle only a little bit to release the air pressure.
- When you hear the air stop, screw the bottle tight again.
- Unscrew the chuck.
This procedure will prevent you from releasing sealant onto the defective valve stem.
